Hereby several Questions and Answers concerning the Skate Academy that we think can help the visitors to have a clear view on what Skate Academy is and what it offers. Q&A Q: What is Skate Academy?
A: Skate Academy is a summer skating school that takes place for the first time under the guidance of a very professional coaching staff. Q: Where is Skate Academy taking place? A: The first Skate Academy takes place in Champéry. Champéry is a small town in western Switzerland. The National Training Center “Palladium” offers ideal training infrastructure: ice rink, swimming pool, sport hall, fitness room, ballet room, restaurant and a hotel all under one roof. Q: What is the age of the participants to the Skate Academy? A: Very young skaters, starting with ages of 5-6, until young adult skaters are welcome to our camp. Q: What level of skating the Skate Academy participants must have? A: Skate Academy offers training possibilities for single skaters of all levels: from beginner skaters working on single jumps (Swiss standard- 4 stars and Interbronze) until senior elite skaters. Q: How do I apply for Skate Academy? A: 1- Download and fill out the Application form that you can find on the Application/Forms section of the site. 2- Send us the form by email or fax (see the contact section of the site). Q: When is the deadline for Applications? A: Application deadline is 10th of June. However, depending on availability, late applicants will also be accepted. A late application fee applies. Q: How do I know if my place is reserved? A. Your place is reserved after we receive the payment for the course. Q: Can I also book additional private lessons? A: Yes you can book additional private lessons. However the additional private lessons are subject to availability. At the conclusion of the inscriptions each applicant for private lessons will be informed about the awarded private lessons and will receive the corresponding invoice. Q: Do I have to have my own medical insurance. A: Yes. Medical or any other type of insurance is your own responsability. The organizers deny any injury or damage liability. 15 Mai 2008

Ice gala at Skate Academy. On the last evening of Skate Academy an Ice gala will take place. Selected participants from Skate Academy will have the chance to show their skills and new programs to the public. We will publish more information about the Ice gala as soon as we have them.
The first International Figure Skating Academy will be held in Champéry-Switzerland between 11 and 16 August 2008. The Academy`s Staff includes Olympic, World and International class coaches with a great experience in all fields of skating:  | |

The course includes sessions focusing on all aspects of skating on the ice and off the ice. Next to the ice training for Technique, Spins-Levels, Steps, two sessions daily will be offered for Off-ice jumps and Street-Dance. The infrastructure of "Palladium" from Champery offers perfect conditions of training for skaters of all level.
